The idea that "in the right situation given the right information they will generate ideas that solve life’s problems" reminds me of how Einstein finally arrived at his first “shattering of illusion” with the special theory of relativity (time & space are relative to the observer, matter contracts in the direction of its motion, speed of light is constant for any observer [hence no such thing as simultaneity], etc.).
